Professor Lawyer Albina Candian guest at Rabat for the Third International Forum of Islamic finance.

Financial market hasn’t remained indifferent to both the remarkable changes that see our society as leading actor and the necessary openness to those law systems, which are different from the Welfare-based ones. Indeed, our firm has prepared for future challenges to which lawyers and counsellors have to face in order to offer the best service to clients.

On 29th and 30th October 2016, Professor Albina Candian has been one of the main speaker at the third Islamic Finance Forum held at Rabat University (Souissi). Her speech was titled “Régulation Juridique et institutionnelle du système finacier islamique” (Judicial and Institutional regulation of the Islamic financial system).

Professor Candian, thanks to the cooperation with College Graduate Jihane Benarafa, who assists her both in studio and at University, has actively contributed to the debate offering her extensive experience in the insurance law and has been able to describe for the first time the agreement elements which could suit between an Italian traditional insurance system and an Islamic insurance one, so-called Takaful.

Through this debate, result of some years of studies and in-depth analysis, Professor Candian has clarified that the Italian system isn’t unrelated to the Islamic model, compared to other European and Western systems. In fact, Candian mentioned that there are reciprocal conforming models with the Takaful, mutual insurances especially.

Furthermore, Professor Candian has exhaustively shown a possible coexistence between the two systems and also the possibility to create some conventional insurance inside a department or Takaful fund to meet the Muslim population insurance needs.
